Digital Forensics

Among the critical functions performed by the Task Force is the seizure and examination of computer (electronic/digital/magnetic) media. Task Force affiliates are trained to conduct initial seizures of evidence and information, field examinations of digital evidence, imaging of digital media, and full lab analysis of that media for items of an evidentiary nature. The task force deals with all forms of digital evidence, including desktop and laptop computers as well as mobile devices (e.g., cell phones, PDAs, music players, and cameras).

Additional information about ICAC/ICTF digital forensics activities can be obtained from intake coordinator Brian Penders. Law enforcement personnel wishing to obtain assistance from the Task Force in any digital forensics or cyber-investigation activity should review and submit the ICAC/ICTF Intake Form.
